Anne Marie Hamill: Founder of Hamilton Interiors
Anne Marie Hamill fell in love with art and interior design at the age of seventeen while spending time in the United States. Today, she runs her own successful business in Ireland, Hamilton Interiors.
While Anne Marie was in the United States, her visa did not permit her to work, so she poured her free time into art classes, visiting museums, and other endeavors to expand her design knowledge. Nevertheless, she returned to Ireland and began her career as a nurse as planned. Hamill couldn’t let go of her passion for interior design, though. She began splitting her time between nursing shifts and design projects for friends and neighbors. Eventually, it became clear to her that interior design was her true passion, and in 2002 Anne Marie founded Hamilton Interiors, shifting to embracing her design work full-time.
Early in her career, Anne Marie Hamill found herself focusing primarily on the beauty of a space. However, as she has honed her skills, she now recognizes that good interior design is about so much more than aesthetics. Making a space reflect what matters to the client while also being functional and visually pleasing is the true goal of a good interior designer, and those are skills Anne Marie strives to offer. In her own words, “Good design is like an excellent portrait. It tells the story of not just who you are, but it gives insight into your history and values.”
With a rare combination of both passion and talent, Anne Marie Hamill has successfully made her passion into a career, creating beautiful and welcoming spaces for all the families she works with. So many family memories are made within the home, and Anne Marie strives to make sure the homes she and her team work on offer a wonderful backdrop to those family experiences.
Thanks to Hamill’s emphasis on high-quality work and detailed craftsmanship, the team from Hamilton Interiors has been featured on RTE’s show, “My Showhouse,” selected along with only seven other Irish designers. Outside of her work, Anne Marie Hamill values spending time with her family.
